Knowledge Centre

Mission
To act as the national resource centre for materials on productivity, competitiveness, quality, benchmarking, clustering, creativity, innovation and leadership issues.
Objectives
The objectives of the Knowledge Centre are twofold:
- provide input in the area of productivity, competitiveness and quality for policy formulation and planning
- provide high quality information sources and services in supporting research, development and promotional activities

Knowledge Sharing is available through the following services:
  • Online databases of case studies showing productivity improvement at the grass-root level
  • Online databases of case studies showing in-plant intervention for productivity improvement at the corporate level
  • Information search of resources on a variety of topics such productivity, competitiveness, quality, management of change, benchmarking, clustering and innovation
  • Video shows of audio-visual material on subjects like 5S, quality, best practices, kaizen, total productive maintenance, cost of quality, management of change and civic action teams
  • Electronic resources on subjects like productivity, competitiveness, 5S, economic value added, and team work
  • Online resources on subjects like productivity, competitiveness, benchmarking, clustering and innovation
  • An online forum where individuals / organisations both at the national and international levels can communicate and share ideas / information on topics related to the activities of the NPCC
  • Selected content from the Knowledge Centre is also packaged and disseminated through our electronic newsletter, NPCC E-Newsletter. (Those wishing to receive future issues of the newsletter by e-mail can register by clicking on the link)
  • A one-stop-shop service where users have the opportunity to purchase available titles is also offered
Membership

To inculcate the productivity, competitiveness and quality culture in the local mindset, the Knowledge Centre is aiming at attracting:

  • decision makers, trainers, productivity activists
  • managers & employees from both public and private sectors
  • general public – researchers, students, trade unionists, etc.
