Business Improvement

Cost of Quality(COQ)

Productivity and Competitiveness of enterprises depends on their ability for rapid adaptation to external conditions, quick response to consumer demands, continual innovation and improvement in products and services. This business series report introduces the concept of COQ as a means for enterprises to gauge the returns on quality and its impact on the bottom line.

Economic Value Added (EVA)

Economic Value Added is a measure of performance, a measure of the ability of private companies to generate wealth, the ratio of Economic Profit to Economic Value. Economists argue that to create wealth, businesses must produce enough profits to cover not only operating expenses but also investment costs of lenders and shareholders of the company. In this business series report, the power of the EVA concept is explained along with its calculation and implementation.

Gain Sharing

Gainsharing is a pay-for-performance approach to employee compensation that best links pay and performance. As performance improves, employees share the resulting financial gains. Improved performance yields a financial bonus, which motivates employees to pursue their efforts leading to continuous improvement through a mutually reinforcing cycle. More details about how gainsharing works are available in this business series report.

?INNOVATION is the specific tool of entrepreneurs, the means by which they exploit change as an opportunity for a different business or a different service. It is capable of being presented as a discipline, capable of being learned, capable of being practiced. Entrepreneurs need to search purposefully for the sources of innovation, the changes and their symptoms that indicate opportunities for successful innovation. And they need to know and to apply the principles of successful innovation.? - Peter Drucker
